Business 2.0 Top 10 That Don’t Matter
June 27, 2006 02:22 pm
According to Business 2.0, this is how they compiled this list…
…we found ourselves discarding name after name of people whose power had peaked, whose influence had waned, or whose true importance we felt was overstated.
It’s important to note that they didn’t actually rank these people. Either they couldn’t figure out who mattered least, or they didn’t want to piss off any advertising clients. Whatever the reason, my reaction to the list…
I completely agree. Microsoft is a lame duck and the future of this company will not be dictated by the CEO unless Ray Ozzie sits in that seat.
Woo hoo, woo hoo hooo. Scam! Totally agree with this one.
I disagree with this selection. I don’t think he matters, though. It’s Sony. Sony will always be important simply because they have their hands in a lot of jars. I don’t agree with the decisions Sony has made of late (including the root-kit fiasco), but this guy shouldn’t be on this list.
Slashdot will have its day again when digg.com tears itself apart from the outside in. There’s a place for moderated, edited news in every segment.
Certainly the most interesting selection. I’m glad he’s on this list. With the millions of Linux flavors, one man (this man) has become irrelevant. This space will certainly be influenced by Apple, Red Hat and Novell in the coming years.
Note to self: If someone offers me millions for a piece-of-crap idea, take it.
Alright, folks, there you have it.

About
Oddly enough, I hate reading and love writing. I can’t find time to do either. I only read non-fiction—typically business books and magazines. |
