I completely missed the whole New Year's resolution thing. Since we're at the end of Q1 2007, I figured why the hell not go quarter-by-quarter from here on out. I've had a lot on my mind this year. Professionally, I entered the new year as interim-CIO which added a whole lot more complication and responsibility to my life. I spent most of my free time completing work on InkOutLoud. But now that I'm no longer interim-CIO and now that InkOutLoud is testing market waters, I'm finally able to think about the rest of my year.
Resolution #1: Write. A lot. For the longest time I've tried to get myself in a routine. In all of my attempts, I've left an hour block towards the end of the day to collect my thoughts and write. Needless to say, I'm not a routine kind of person so it never worked. I'm going to drop the routine and just write when I can.
Resolution #2: Finish Some Projects. I've got way too many unfinished projects screaming for attention. Some of them just need a week or two of my precious time.
Resolution #3: Closure On Projects. Closure–bad or good–is usually always positive. I need to bring closure to some of my business ventures so I can free my mind and start all over again.
Resolution #4: Get Back Home. I've been in Sarasota for 4 years now—3.5 years longer than I ever anticipated. I miss my daughter. I'm not happy at work. I'm tired of the drive back to Orlando to be with the people I love. New job, new business, whatever it takes to get back home.
So there we go. Four resolutions to get me through Q2 2007. Should be easy, right?

About
Oddly enough, I hate reading and love writing. I can’t find time to do either. I only read non-fiction—typically business books and magazines. |
